Development underwater drilling machine
The underwater drilling machine can be utilized for submerged drilling of anchoring systems in amongst others quay walls. By this method existing quay walls can be reinforced and deepened without creating a dry pit around the quay wall. Hakkers has developed this machine which is in operation since 2023.

Full automatic drilling of underwater anchors!
The machine can operate at a water depth of 13 meter and can drill anchors under an angle between 0 and 45 degrees. The maximum size of anchors is 51mm with a length up to 36 meter. The system is operating with a full automatic carousel which stores the anchor rods. Drilling, jointing and inserting of the anchor rods is working fully automatic.
Innovative machine development
Vroegh-edc has executed several engineering activities on this innovative machine development. The machine is fully designed in 3D and several modifications have been implemented like the increasement of the drilling angle from 0 to 45 degrees. Furthermore Vroegh-edc performed stability analysis of the machine in combination with the CAT 390F excavator. For positioning the underwater drilling machine, a special girder was developed by Vroegh-edc in combination with an accurate positioning system.
