Gooseneck design
SCA-Assets is a manufacturer of offshore cable handling systems such like carousels, loading towers, tensioners, etc. Vroegh-edc was asked for the detailed design and manufacturing drawings of a Gooseneck tower which is part of a major cable laying spread recently mobilised in the United Arab Emirates.

The Gooseneck tower is able to load and unload offshore power cables into the carousel and smoothly guides the cable without compromising the minimum bending radius (MBR). This Gooseneck was designed with a MBR of 4.0m and exists of a tower construction, lower bend and loading arm with A-frame.
Close cooperation with manufacturer!
Due to a very challenging lead time, the design went throughout a close cooperation with the manufacturer SCA-Assets and Fabtech Group in the UAE whereby the design was optimized to readily available materials and stock steel.
